"I had a lot of fun. I got my hair done in corn rows and I got a
little too much sun, but I had a lot of fun."

One couple
who cruised in Alaska on Carnival's ship "Spirit" this is
their message when they returned.
"We
had a great time. I wish we would have rented a car and did some
driving of our own, besides the land portion.
We were able to get a
free bus from the airport - and we did get the credit on board.
Thanks for telling me to look around for an agent. Cause - two other
couples were told to just get a cab. Our bus had only two people on
it - us! It was a big greyhound type bus. He even stopped for us to
get a pix of a moose, right out side the airport gate. The room was
super. Just what we wanted. Thanks for everything. Our next trip
will hopefully be the Panama Canal - all the way through, so keep
your eyes out for us." JG

Princess Cruise Line to Alaska, May 05...
"Alaska
was great again. Our travel friends took the Mendenhall glacier &
whale watching tour (Juneau) which they really liked. They also
enjoyed the train ride in Skagway. We took the tour to Liarsville
and the bus traveled parallel to the train route. It was
inexpensive and we liked Liarsville a lot.
The Butchart Gardens (Victoria) are gorgeous
and worth a trip but I would recommend passing on the winery
add-on. That was my second trip to the gardens and I enjoyed it
just as much as the first time. In Ketchican, we took the
horse-drawn trolley which was economical and quite enjoyable. We
spent the rest of our time just walking around. Plenty to see in
this very quaint town...
During the trip into Glacier Bay we stayed in our cabin. Princess
offered a special room service Champagne Breakfast...about $25 and
worth every penny. The views from our balcony were terrific.
The shows on board are great and there was lots of nightlife. The
Skywalker club on the 18th deck was the best. It had a
panoramic view. It was closed during the day (until 4 p.m.) for bar
service creating a beautiful quiet spot to meditate, read or just
watch for wildlife. Once the bar opened, it became our favorite
place for cocktails while whale watching. At night, it’s a disco.
Our hotel in San Francisco was the perfect choice for us.
Reasonably priced in a fantastic location...The Chancellor at Union
Square. The staff was terrific and very helpful. We stayed in a
lovely room with a view of Union Square. The trolley stopped
outside the door, which we rode a lot with our day pass (which we
bought right in the lobby at the tour desk). The pass is a deal
since you can ride unlimited all day. We could get anywhere in town
within minutes by walking, bus or trolley. I wrote a complete
review on TripAdvisor.com. Also a show in San Francisco not to be
missed….Beach Blanket Babylon. It was fabulous. I would liken it
to a Saturday Night Live, the musical. We laughed ourselves silly
and it was reasonably priced. The show is in North Beach (Little
Italy) and there are lots of restaurants nearby to visit before the
show.
Amtrak was great... the food was very good and the trip was so
relaxing. The views from San Francisco to Seattle were
spectacular. I highly recommend this trip and the coach seats are
very comfortable, making it unnecessary to pay for sleeper
accommodations." SH
