Groups
In Hawaii, two can be a
group!
Well,
Hawaii was marvelous!
The hotel, Waikoloa Beach
Marriott Resort and Spa was awesome and located in close proximity
to the helicopter tour site and the luau site.
We will do this again in about three years; but we
want to explore a different area of Hawaii, maybe Honolulu.

The
helicopter tour
company, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters Waikoloa
was inspiring while taking pictures
was a bit of a challenge we did purchase the video of our specific
flight which was filmed from the onboard video cameras.

The luau we attended was called
"Gathering of the Kings". It retold the story of the settlement of
the Pacific. This had to be the best luau on the Island.
The
convertible 5.0 mustang rental was a great touch; I didn't let Faye
drive any during the entire trip :-)
The temperature ranged from 76
to 88 degrees each day we were there.
Although it was raining on the other islands, the Big
Island was sunny and bright the entire time.
Thanks again Judy for your personalized service,
invaluable information & assistance in helping us create the
vacation we won't soon forget!

Update from the
Jim & Moe Caribbean Cruise
On January 2, 2011 we
boarded the Carnival Cruise Lines mega ship the "Legend" and had a
fantastic 7 days with warm, sunny weather in exotic ports of call,
full of adventure, relaxation, history and of course, shopping!
We enjoyed a private meet and
greet featuring Jim Stafford and Moe Bandy. We asked questions and
took pictures with the entertainers. There was a lot of laughter as
we learned about their backgrounds and careers.
Did you know that Jim is a wonderfully talented classical guitarist?
That his hit song, Cow Patti, was written for the Clint Eastwood
movie, Any Which Way You Can, in which Jim appeared.
Or that Moe worked on a ranch as a working cowboy and competed in
bull riding and bareback bronco riding in rodeos for several years.
Did you know Moe has his own bull? Yep,
www.MoeBandy.com.
There was a great Jim and Moe
cocktail party with free drinks, yummy food and easy chatter.
Jim’s private show was funny and wonderfully entertaining. His
guitar playing is exceptional.
Moe’s private show was great fun. Whether you like country music or
not, Moe Bandy has got to be a favorite.
If you were not with us you missed a great
vacation.
OH! Did I forget to mention that Jerry Van Dyke made an appearance,
joining Jim for jokes and conversion? What a wonderful
surprise!

Kilts in the Wind
went to “New Scotland”
Our group, “Kilts in the Wind”,
sailed out of New York on Carnival’s beautiful ship, M.S.
Victory. Passing the Statue of Liberty gives us goose bumps. It is
truly a sight to behold. Then it’s on to Boston, Portland, and “New
Scotland”, Sidney and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The September weather is
warm, the people friendly and welcoming, and the sites are
intriguing and rewarding. From a Historic Tour in Boston to
lobster in Maine to the Fortress of Louisbourg and Cabot Trail in
Sydney to the Maritime museum and The Citadel in Halifax, we were
energized with excitement.
Our time onboard ship is
fun and entertaining as well. We are piped into the dining room on
formal nights. The men are dressed in kilts. Other cruisers look
on with wonder at this special honor. We enjoy a private cocktail
party, luck at the casino, and one member even wins the drawing on
the day of debarkation. We have five special guests who entertain
us in private sessions.
